I have to admit that I never fully understood the Lloyds scandal but now I do! A really enjoyable read which I couldn't put down.
Another good read from Penny Vincenzi. A great cast is set into action right from the word go. Believable characters have thier lives thrown into turmoil by the very thing that had made them fly. Really well written weaving history into fiction. A very good and thought provoking read. More depth than her usual novels - deeper than you'd think )

I love Penny Vincenzi! Although this book did not measure up to the Lytton family trilogy, it is well worth reading. I love the way she lists all the characters and who they are at the beginning of her books.
This is an interesting story and I love the thread about Lucinda and Blue-Penny Vincenzi is great because I love her books, and so do my daughters and my mother-three generations who can read the same book and talk about it and share an interest. One summer we all read Something Dangerous and loved talking about it at the beach.
Penny Vincenzi is consistently a good writer and this book meets that criteria. I have read many of her novels but I find I have tired of reading her recently as they have become more predictable and for lack of a better word- mundane.
